A word cloud helped capture the essence of the texts and readings in a more creative way through the interplay between the words, shape, colors and theme. Despite being given the freedom to pick the words and theme, I chose not to edit the word list to keep the word cloud’s methodology and approach authentic.
The words standing out the most here are: digital, nature, technobiophilia and environmental. This is primarily due to these words holding a common ground in the majority of the readings. Such frequency could also be due to these topics being discussed more and more online. A potential inclination of humans towards environmentalism and sustainability can also be assumed.
The proximity of words like “urban” and “adaptation” to “nature” in the word cloud illustrates how our digital presence is increasingly aimed at merging technological and ecological elements to create a more holistic ecosystem. This observation led me to draw connections with the way companies approach corporate social responsibility (CSR). This is a concept I learnt of in my Economics courses. Many organizations now prioritize sustainability and environmental consciousness in their business models, mirroring the technobiophilic drive to harmonize human progress with nature. Seeing these terms grouped made me realize how a similar word cloud could be a valuable brainstorming tool for companies. It can visually simplify complex ideas, highlight key focus areas, and inspire more integrated approaches to CSR and sustainable innovation.
