Creating this reflective narrative video about my digital literacy journey was a nostalgic and introspective experience, especially as a millennial straddling the line between the pre- and post-internet. Throughout making this video I fondly remembered my Gigapet. Looking back, it feels like an early version of the app-based systems we use today, where we’re constantly managing notifications and interacting with digital interfaces. It was fascinating to reflect on how something so simple back then sparked my interest in technology and digital interaction. Throughout my journey, music has also played a pivotal role—whether it was discovering new sounds through early MP3 players or creating playlists to inspire my creative process. Music has not only been a source of joy but also a tool for digital exploration, helping me navigate and shape my online experience. The process of creating the video reminded me of how these various elements—nostalgic technology, the evolution of apps, and the influence of music—have all intertwined to shape my ongoing digital literacy journey.
Hi Kami!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your video, especially the difference between your pre and post-internet experiences. Kind of wild to think how much changed so quickly! I too included AOL internet in mine so it made me smile that someone else used it too! GigaPets are a huge throwback as well LOL. Great work!
