Digital Literacy Snapshot
I had a lot of fun making this video because it was like taking a trip down memory lane. It reminded me of platforms like We Heart It, MSN, Skype, and Hyves, which I almost forgot about. It was fascinating to see how those early online activities have evolved into the apps and media I use today. While working on this video, I realized just how much these apps have changed and updated over the years, and those changes happened so quickly I barely noticed them. Looking back at old pictures of how Snapchat and Instagram used to look, I can see it has changed so much. I also noticed that there are now so many more opportunities for apps and networking sites that are for specific interests like travel or reading apps. During this assignment, I noticed that for me personally, the biggest changes have happened in how I use apps and networking sites. It shifted from using social media mainly to follow friends and share life updates to now using it for my hobbies and only connecting with close friends and family.
Hi Sterre!
ReplyDeleteThis was a very fun video! It was cool learning about some platforms I hadn't heard about before - like We Heart It and Hynes! I had a similar journey around 2019 with deleting my apps. Social media and tech are a difficult thing to navigate - thank you for highlighting the difference in your usage, and for an awesome watch!
