Recording this video was a meaningful journey. I intended to create a vibe of a TikToker sharing her personal stories, but the aspect ratio turned out wrong. I hope that did not spoil the viewing experience. One thing that struck me is how much easier and faster video editing has become compared to years ago. With just a click, you can delete unwanted clips or use AI to auto-generate subtitles. In fact, you can now create and edit entire videos just by using the right prompts. That is a big leap for the industry! Beyond the technical side, I really enjoyed reflecting on my digital literacy experience. As a member of Gen Z, I am so used to these technologies that I often forget how they have reshaped our lives in just a few decades. Especially since the release of ChatGPT, I've felt a mix of excitement and anxiety. For the first time, I can truly sympathize with older generations who struggle to keep up with the pace of innovation. The future is unknown, but at least we can share our thoughts and find allies to navigate this technological flood together.
Hi Wenbin, I enjoyed watching your video! The Chinese social media platforms you mentioned were especially interesting to me because I was not familiar with many of them. Even though we are from the same generation, it was interesting to see how growing up in different regions can shape very different digital experiences.
ReplyDeleteHi Wenbin! I really related to your reflection, especially the part about how much easier video editing has become and how that changes the way we think about creating content. As someone who also grew up using platforms like WeChat, QQ, and Xiaohongshu, I felt the same mix of comfort and pressure with how fast digital tools keep evolving. I also liked how you connected your personal experience to larger generational shifts—it made the reflection feel very grounded and honest.
