Digital Literacy Snapshot - Beth Rowsell

Huge apologies for my voice in this video, I have been battling a pretty rough cold ! :(

This was definitely a very interesting experience in creating this video. I have never really taken a moment to reflect on my digital literacy journey before. The process of looking for some old photos to include in my presentation was a bit of a walk down memory lane. As a kid, I spent an immense amount of time on the internet, which definitely had its cons, though I am grateful for the pros. For the most part, the people I interacted with early on in my internet days were also children, so it was a nice way to still connect with people. If I had troubles connecting with peers at school, there was always some Minecraft server I could turn to, and I think that was a lovely thing that I got to experience, all of which shaping my internet habits but also shaping my identity. As I mentioned in the video as well, I was typing a lot on the family computer which gave me some pretty fast typing skills at an early age. Those skills have remained useful, especially in my essay writing!
